Managing Director and Regional Portfolio Manager

Amanda E. Black, Managing Director and Regional Portfolio Manager of Northwood Securities, has over 17 years of global real estate securities research and investment experience including 11 years managing U.S. and global long-only and long-short REIT portfolios. As Regional Portfolio Manager based in NWS’ New York office, Ms. Black is responsible for managing all North American investments for the firm.

Prior to joining NWS, Ms. Black was a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Ascent Investment Advisors, where she co-managed a global REIT mutual fund and hedge fund for almost four years.

Ms. Black was previously a Vice President at Colony Capital where she was Co-Portfolio Manager for a long-short global real estate hedge fund and a long-only international real estate fund. Before that she was a Director at UBS Investment Bank where she was responsible for portfolio management of the UBS Proprietary U.S. Real Estate Long-Short Equity Portfolio. Between 1999 and 2004, Ms. Black held Associate and Senior Analyst positions at both A.G. Edwards & Sons and European Investors Incorporated (EII).

Ms. Black is a graduate of Southern Illinois University where she earned her B.S. in Business and Administration and Saint Louis University where she earned a M.B.A with an emphasis on International Business. She earned her CPA license in 2001 and her CFA designation in 2005.
