In May 2014, Northwood acquired 1 and 2 Heuston South Quarter, two inter-connected Class A freehold office assets with a total leasable area of 218,000 SF.
At the time of Northwood’s acquisition, the buildings were fully leased to Eircom Group Ltd. until 2033. The property was designed by JJ Rhatigan & Company and is part of one of the largest mixed-use projects in Dublin city center encompassing a total of 10 acres. The property was fitted with automatic energy efficient lighting and energy efficient heat sensors to maintain correct levels of heating throughout the building. Heuston South Quarter is positioned approximately one mile to the west of the city center and is situated adjacent to Heuston Station and the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, commanding views of the River Liffy and Phoenix Park. Heuston Train Station provides routes to the south, southwest and west of Ireland and serves more than 30 million passengers annually. There is also a LUAS (Dublin’s Light Rail Tram System) red line stop within two minutes walking distance to the Property which provides access into the city center and the southwestern suburbs of Dublin.
